The Best Fat Burning Exercise

In their quest for the ultimate fat burning stimulator, some leanness seekers would get to wonder:

Is there one exercise that stands above all others in the fat loss arena?

Is there truly one that deserves to be crowned king of fat burning exercises?

Solving this "mystery" would call us to first categorize the multitude of movements that qualify as contenders.

Each exercise would inevitably fall into one of two categories: It either is a compound movement or an isolated one.

Let me begin with defining the less effective, or "not-so-significant" ones if I may say so; i.e. the isolated movements...

An isolated movement is an exercise that involves one joint; it doesn't stress the target muscle like its compound counterparts, as it doesn't allow for the use of heavy poundages nor does it stimulate the bulk of the muscle fibers.

Compound movements on the other hand are the real deal. The big boys of the industry so to speak; The compound movements involve more than one joint, thus allowing for synergy, where many muscles team up to stress the target muscles. This synergy allows for great intensity; a key to both muscle growth AND fat loss.

Now you've guessed it: The king shall be among those compound movements.

I know you're in a hurry, so I'll spare you the step-by-step elimination process...

But first, I want you to forget everything that has to do with "muscle sculpting" exercises... You know, the stuff that you learn in aerobic classes. These pathetic, demeaning drills will simply waste your time without taking off a single ounce of fat.

If you want to burn fat, you have to think hardcore... You have to think heavy...

And believe me, no other exercise fits the term hardcore and heavy like the Squat and the Deadlift... i.e.; No other exercise burns fat like the squat and the deadlift.

Wondering why? Then let explain...

Fat oxidation (a.k.a. fat burning) is a process that's affected by quite a deal of factors. The more factors we combine, the more we stimulate our bodies to burn fat.

One effective combination would be to target the maximum amount of muscle groups while at the same time training at an optimal target heart rate.

Now if we closely examine the squat and the deadlift, we would first realize that they both are great cardiovascular exercises. Don't believe me? Then try repping out twenty of either and watch your heart pump!

Second, those two movements target an awful amount of muscle groups.

Whether you realize it or not, squatting means working the lower back, thighs, hamstrings, glutes, abs and calves... Wow!

The deadlift on the other hand targets the lower back, thighs, hamstrings, glutes, abs, calves, upper arms, forearms, shoulder structure and upper back... Whew! That's a whole body workout with just one movement! And we're talking major fat loss about to occur, provided that you supply ample intensity...

And there you have it! A simple and logical presentation leads us to conclude that:

The best fat burning exercise is... the Deadlift!

Packing for Mars, The Curious Science of Life in the Void

I was not really surprised when I came to know about Mary Roach's latest effort. Mary's books have always been based on extremely curious topics.

Mary Roach has yet again proved herself with packing for mars, she has found another unique topic to investigate and write about.

Her style of writing remains the same in this book, hilarious, direct and bizarre! She visits some topics like cadavers (actual dead people not crash test dummies) used for testing purposes and also some new titillating subjects, such as sex in space.

Mary Roach pushes the reader into the world of space flight and the difficulties of living in space, how do astronauts go to the toilet? do they really recycle their own urine and then precede to drink it? At the moment there are no baths and showers in space so how do they not stink of body odour all day long? Some other serious topics are discussed like what happens when you vomit in a spacesuit, and how do you survive if this happens to you when spacewalking?

She visits some interesting experiences that the original space pioneers had, for example how about the Apollo astronauts that could not stop farting...

For me packing for mars is her best book since "Stiff" which is one my all time favorites, i find it hard not to laugh out load when reading this particular book, which can sometimes be a little embarrassing.

Packing for mars is not just humorous but it also does a good job at explaining technical and scientific topics. Her style of writing is simple, she manages to get the main points across so that science people and non tech minded peeps can understand.

Tim Mcgraw Live Like You Were Dying Contemporary Country Music CD Review

Tim Mcgraw has released him most recent album entitled Live Like You Were Dying.

It's a rare day indeed that I get a CD from an artist that I can truthfully say does not have a bad track in the bunch. I'm more than happy to announce that's exactly what I must say about this one. There simply is NOT a bad one in the bunch. No fillers here at all.

The nice thing about a CD like this is with this level of talent even if Contemporary Country isn't your favorite style you still can't help but appreciate the greatness of the artist.

Sometimes You Just Have To Move, But It Doesn't Have To Be Painful

Awhile back, a woman approached me and said, "My family is in the process of moving out of state. I'm afraid this is going to have a negative impact on my children. We move every five years because of my husband's job. While I understand, I'm worried my children don't. I don't want them looking back on their childhood with regrets."

Boy, could I relate!

My family moved five times in six years, and not just around the corner, either. We moved to different states!

One way my husband and I helped our children adjust to each move was by keeping them in the loop from the moment we realized we were moving.

We all sat around the computer and looked up things to do in the area, we visited tourist information websites and ordered brochures, and we checked out housing and apartment rentals online.

Finally, if the area we were moving to was within a weekend's driving distance, we took a mini-vacation and gave the children a chance to see what the new area looked like...in other words, we built up their anticipation. We made them feel like this move was one big adventure and that with the right mindset, it would be fun!

While our children ultimately had no choice in the moves, we believed that they needed to know their feelings counted and that they still had some control over their lives. Allowing them to window shop for a new place to live helped ease them mind and made the transition of moving to yet, another state less painful.

Another thing we found helpful was allowing them to decorate their rooms; even if that meant buying new bedding when the old bedding was still perfectly good. The act of personalizing their space made living in a new place less frightening. And to help them make new friends, we allowed them to sign up for a new hobby--whether it was playing HeroClix with a group of boys at the local game shop, or taking swimming lessons at the local pool.

Our last move occurred when my son was fourteen years old and entering high school. After arriving to our new home, he requested that we not move again until he graduated from high school so that he could stay in one school and have the best high school experience possible.

We agreed, under the condition that we'd only move if his dad lost his job and was unable to find work in the area.

That agreement really helped him accept and transition into what I hoped would be our very last move. A few days into the move, my son came up to me and said, "If anyone asks where we've lived, I'm going to tell them that I vacationed a year in Tennessee and seven months in Pennsylvania. As far as Wisconsin goes, that was a real home. And New York doesn't count since things didn't work out and we were only there for two weeks."

As for my daughter... Well, she has developed a natural love of maps, traveling, and adventure. She even informed me that moving hasn't been so bad because she "got to see a lot of neat places in person" and it's just a few more spots she gets to mark off her travel itinerary when she grows up.

An adventure...isn't that what moving really is?

A new place to live, a new town to explore, new people to meet and greet, new things to experience, and a new life waiting to be lived...

We have now lived in the same city, in the same state for six years. My son has moved on to college, and my daughter will be graduating from high school next year. And the only regrets they really have is leaving behind some great friends.

I truly believe that if you teach your children to enjoy the adventure, they'll never look back with BIG regrets. And they will know that you did everything you could to make it the best experience possible.

Take Flight With Silver Wings and a Golden Quill

The release of 'With Silver Wings and a Golden Quill' by Tanya Campos-Gracia has been long-awaited by many of Tanya's friends and family. This is Tanya's third book and she shines magnificently in her flowing poetic structure.

This book will certainly keep an adult captivated throughout. Campos-Gracia has awesome sensuality to her writing. Her poems keep her reader interested. She has a way of making one think over certain points and then continuing to gain more knowledge of the situation she has created. She uses her writing formats do this extremely well. She leaves one word or two words on a line in many places and gives the reader time to pause before reading on. She does this very well as she controls the pauses you take.

There are Graphic art designs throughout this book with a most beautifully eye-catching designed cover. The brilliant colors surrounded by black are very eye-catching. The artwork, done specifically for the poems enhance the superb poetry.

This poetry will certainly keep most adults captivated throughout. I must say that I do not recommend it for children or young teens. Campos-Gracia certainly has much interest to her writing. Her poems keep her reader very fulfilled at all times. She has a way of making one wanting to continue to gain more knowledge of the situation she has created.

Campos-Gracia's writing is most defiantly unique in every way possible. This is the kind of writing that wakes up the senses in most people. Your eyebrows will lift as you read. This book will at times make your toes curl. Besides being sensual in nature, it flows gently from page to page. The writing is that of an excellent and talented poetess who entertains her adult readers. Tanya will hold your attention and at times let you linger and contemplate over the well thought out word usage. This is an awesome and enjoyable book to add to any collection.

Somanabolic Muscle Maximizer

The Somanabolic Muscle Maximizer has become one of the most popular muscle-building programs, especially among skinny guys who want to bulk up fast. Most people simply refer to the program as the Muscle Maximizer but technically it has that word, "somanabolic," in front of it. So before I get into some of the details of this program, I want to examine what that word means.

"Soma" basically means body, or the entire body of an organism. "Somatotype" obviously means "type of body." It refers to the structure of someone, or their body type. "Anabolic" comes from the word "anabolism" which is the stage of metabolism where substances are turned into tissues. So when you put the two together you get the new word "somanabolic" which has to do with using certain foods to grow your body depending on your body type.

This is what sets The Muscle Maximizer apart from most muscle building programs. Kyle Leon knows that you have to take a person's body type into account when designing a nutrition program. Conventional wisdom states that there are only three main body types: ectomorph, endomorph, and mesomorph, but they forget about the combinations of those body types.

I'll get back to that in a minute. Something everyone has heard but often forget is the saying, "You are what you eat." It is more literal than you think. No, eating cow meat will not make you a cow. But your body will be made of the same molecules that the cow was made of. Think about that. That's why if you want to build muscles (which are meat) then you need to eat meat (which is full of protein), or you can take protein supplements. But you also need energy to work out, which means you'll need fat and carbs.

Unfortunately it's more complicated than that when you take body types into account. If you have a thick layer of fat (energy), then you need to find a way to utilize that energy. If you continue to consume fat and carbohydrates in addition to protein, you'll never get rid of that layer of fat and any muscles you build won't be visible. In fact, you'll just look fatter!

In conclusion: The best food for you to burn fat, build muscle and look amazing completely depends on your body type. With the Somanabolic Muscle Maximizer, you can input your information (height, weight, body type, schedule, favorite foods) and it will create a meal plan that it perfect for you and your body. It will even specify when to eat your meals. By adjusting your diet, you can get maximum results out of your body.

Czech Cuisine - Easy to Prepare Czech Style Steak and Pepper Stew

Czech cuisine is among the heartiest and easy to prepare anywhere. As an added bonus, most Czech food is easy on the wallet. Here's one of our favorite recipes for steak and peppers, prepared in the crock pot...

This is my dad's recipe; he's been preparing it for years. He got the recipe from his mother, who was of predominantly Czech heritage. The recipe itself is called Czech pepper steak, which is a little bit of a misnomer because it is really more of a stew, especially when prepared in the crock pot.

We usually serve the dish over egg noodles mixed with minced onion and caraway seed, but you can serve it with anything you like. Mashed potatoes are another ideal accompaniment, and rice works well too.

Here's what you need to prepare this hearty, delicious stew:

2 pound tri tip roast, cut into stew size pieces of your liking 1 medium onion, minced 3 tablespoons vegetable oil 2 small garlic cloves, sliced or minced 1 cup canned beef stock 4 bell peppers cut into 1/4 inch strips 2 teaspoons Hungarian sweet paprika 8 ounce can of tomato paste

After you've got all the ingredients together, it is a really easy dish to prepare. First, heat the vegetable oil in a skillet. Brown the meat and add the minced onion about half way through the browning process.

Transfer the meat and onion into a crock pot. Add the garlic, beef stock, paprika, and garlic. You can add a cup of water to the mix if it appears you will need more liquid.

Set on low and let simmer for four hours. Then, add the peppers and let simmer for another ninety minutes. We add the peppers later so they don't get soggy in the crock pot, but there's nothing wrong with adding them at the beginning if you need to be away from home.

So, the total cooking time is five and half hours. The meat will be fork tender! Serve over (or with) the side dish of your choice and enjoy!

One note about paprika. Be sure to use sweet Hungarian paprika and not Spanish. There is nothing wrong with the Spanish variety but it will impart a distinctly different taste. Hungarian paprika is sweeter and works perfectly with the peppers and stew meat.

Also, feel free to substitute different peppers for bell peppers. We like bells because they are hearty, mild, and don't overwhelm the meat. But if you like a little heat, a Hungarian wax pepper is another good choice.
